January 8, 2021

Dear Families,

The district learned in the evening on January 7, 2021, that an individual from the Johnsburg Central School District tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was present in the Elementary part of the school.  This individual was last in the building on January 7, 2021.

I have placed all students on remote learning for Friday, January 8, 2021, so the district along with Warren County Public Health will have time to do our contact tracing.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

The district continues to thoroughly clean and disinfect all buildings on campus, in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC.

Please contact Mrs. Flanagan or me directly if you would like more information about our health and safety procedures. Any additional questions, including information about testing procedures, can be directed to Warren County Public Health at (518) 761-6580.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Markwica

Superintendent of Schools
